Use Cases - Patron
Searching for a book by author - The patron opens a browser window for the URL of the library system. He or she enters as much of the author's name as possible in the author input box and presses the search button. Alternatively, several different spellings can be entered by putting each one in quotes and "or" between them. In the case of the single word entry, the database will will search using the "like" clause. In the case of quoted entries, the database will search using "contains".
Looking for help - The patron presses the help button. A new window displaying help information about the search window is opened.
Refining a previous search -
Searching for information on an author -
Looking for a device driver - The patron picks the genre "software - device drivers" and enters "video board" under title. A result list of video board drivers is displayed along with URL's pointing to their location. The patron selects the correct driver's URL. A window offering to download the file appears.
